For families
Ten steps, in order, with nothing hidden in the middle.
Most families have never hired a nanny before, and the process is opaque from the outside. Here is the whole of it.
The inquiry call
Twenty minutes, by phone. You describe your household and what you need. Kate tells you honestly whether this is a search she can run well. Free, and there is no pressure at the end of it.
The application fee $350
This is where the work begins, so this is where the first payment sits.
It is not refundable, because the assessment and the opening search happen whether or not the search ends in a hire. There is no deadline on the engagement. The rest is due only when you hire someone we present.
The needs consultation
An hour to an hour and a half, virtual. This is the part families tell us they did not expect to matter as much as it did. Schedules, driving, allergies, discipline, screen time, what a hard day looks like in your house.
Most hiring mistakes trace back to a role nobody defined out loud.
Search and screening
We source candidates, review applications, and interview. You do not see this part. That is rather the point.
Vetting, before anyone is presented
References spoken to directly. Employment history confirmed. Driving record and current car insurance verified. Education verified.
Nobody reaches your shortlist who has not cleared this. A vetted shortlist is the entire offer, and presenting someone we had not checked would make the promise meaningless.
Your shortlist
Three candidates, presented together, with what we learned about each. Not a directory. Not a login.
You interview
In your home, on your terms, with whoever in your family should be part of it. We will help you prepare questions if you would like them.
Background check on your finalist
Once you know who you want, a criminal background check is ordered through an accredited screening provider on their compliant forms, before any offer is made.
A work agreement template
We provide an attorney-drafted nanny work agreement template. You and your nanny complete your own terms and sign with each other.
To be plain about this: we do not write your agreement and we do not set anyone's pay. Those are yours to decide, directly with the person you are hiring. What we give you is a good starting document so that nothing important gets left out.
Placement $3,500
Due when you and your nanny sign. Then the 90-day window opens: one free replacement search if the nanny resigns or is dismissed for cause during that time. We stay reachable through the first months either way, because the first months are when a placement either settles or doesn't.
Continuity
The first ninety days are the ones that matter.
A placement that starts well can still come apart in week six over something small that nobody raised. We check in, and we are available to both households through the guarantee window.
Here is exactly what the guarantee covers, so nothing is a surprise later. If the nanny resigns or is dismissed for cause within 90 days of the start date, we run a replacement search at no additional placement fee. That is a one-time replacement; once it is used, the guarantee is spent.
It does not apply if your needs changed after hiring, if the terms you agreed to were changed after hiring, or if the placement fee was not paid. And to be plain about the case families ask after most often: if the placement simply is not the right fit, with no resignation and no dismissal for cause, the guarantee itself is not triggered. We will still talk it through with you, but a new search at that point is not free.
The question families ask on every call
Who employs the nanny?
You do. When you hire, you become the household employer. That means you set the pay, you set the schedule, and you handle payroll and taxes.
That sounds heavier than it is. Household payroll services exist that handle the filings for a modest monthly fee, and we will point you to reputable ones.
But we want you to know it going in, because agencies that blur this line create real problems for the families they serve.
